Continued support to schools

21st December 2023

These young children were absent from school due to hunger and no uniform. I am delighted that we have been able to provide these 6 and 6 others with the basics to get them back to learning and and for the girls away from the risk of forced marriage.

We continue to support these children.

Great news - Schools reopen and one of our sponsored children starts senior school

March 23, 2022

With schools beginning to reopen we are delighted to announce that one of sponsored children has started senior school.

The transformation from when we first met her (see story below) and now is incredible and shows how much our support can bring to the life of a child.

Fundraising

Jan 14 2021

In July 2019 we set up Just Giving page with raised £1250.  We also reached out to our friends and work colleagues who made donations that exceeded our expectations.  We received 4000 pencils, 3500 colouring pencils, 3000 black and blue pens, 100 rulers, 100 school wallets, books (enough to start a mini library), sanitary pads and underwear for girls and boys, socks, toothbrushes and toothpaste, toys, full football kits (boots, socks included), netball kits, volleyball kits, footballs, netballs, whistles, portable megaphone and many other beautiful gifts.

These gifts were shipped to Zimbabwe and delivered to the village.  On the 5th of August 2019, the whole community gathered at the school to receive the donations and to show their gratitude.  The occasion was graced by the village Chief, which was a great honour.  We made a pledge at this gathering to pay fees for 105 students who are orphaned and some from the worst poverty stricken homes.  We also made a pledge, with the help of the Chief, the Headteacher and her team and the community to ensure that no child was denied education because they could not pay school fees.  (fees at this school is currently £4.50 per term).
